Real Deal on Roaches
There are two types of roaches we treat for in Arizona: small or German (house/apartment roach) and big Turkestan or American (sewer roach).
Most sewer roaches come from the ground. They burrow into moist areas, under shrubs, planter boxes, gravel, river rock, in sprinkler/water meter boxes. The sewer roach is easily controlled by a combination of granules and sprays outside the home, and sprays or glue traps inside.
How to Get Rid of Roaches
- Sprinkle granules lightly in these nuisance areas; water in one time.
- Spray patio, doorframes, window frames, sides of building, etc.
The “house” or German (small) roach is more difficult: Because most of these roaches have become resistant to sprays, we instead use a combination of an invisible, odorless roach sterilant, a crack & crevice dust and roach bait. Apply roach sterilant spray evenly and lightly to all cupboards, including every room and every baseboard.
