Bug & Weed Mart will match donations to My Sisters’ Place

WHAT:

To raise awareness and support for victims of domestic violence, Bug & Weed Mart’s five valley stores will host a fundraising drive during October in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The locally owned and operated retailer, specializing in DIY pest control, will raise funds for Catholic Charities My Sisters’ Place, an emergency shelter serving victims of domestic violence.

Donations can be made at any Bug & Weed Mart location – no purchase necessary. Receipts will be provided for tax records and Bug & Weed Mart will be matching in-store donation dollars, up to $5,000.

My Sisters’ Place will be using the money raised for food, diapers, bus tickets, medical supplies, and child care for the individuals and families living in the shelter.

WHEN:

Monday, Oct 2nd – Tuesday, October 31st during regular store hours

All five Bug & Weed Mart Valley locations: Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Scottsdale, and Phoenix

About My Sisters’ Place:

My Sisters’ Place has 30 beds and is one of only two confidential domestic violence shelters in the East Valley. They provide shelter and supportive services to men, women, and children fleeing domestic violence. Those services include case management, support groups, and counseling. They also provide food items for the meals, shelter residents can cook in the community kitchen, and there are laundry supplies, toiletries, and more.
